These are some book cover concepts for the book: "Starflower" by Anne Elisabeth Stengl. The assignment was to photograph an object & combine it with something else, and use that object to be a symbol of the book. By using the object combination, colors and tone were premeditated to establish the overall feeling of the contents of the book.
As such, this particular assignment was to create a book cover of a published author & use a symbol to represent the book. The rose is blue for mystery, one could assume that the book has to do with something delicate and fantastical.

The story of Starflower is an actual name of a maiden trapped in enchanted sleep. The story of Starflower is a fairy tale full of adventure, far-off lands, faeries and mortals, mystery and wonder. This book is not just a story, but a story of the power of true love. She is awakened by a kiss from her enchanted sleep; Starflower awakens to tell a beautifully tragic back story. She is a mute girl with a mysterious past– running from dark threats; a story of light and beauty in the midst of dark desperation. Her rescuer, Eanrin, conceited and self-centered, comes to understand what it means to truly love. Starflower is faith, beauty, love and strength all bound into one.
